The Year Before (2005), The Year Ahead (2006)
At every point in the last few years when I have looked back and reflected on events, I am always surprised by what I have learnt and achieved, and I wonder what the future will bring: whether I will continue to grow and develop just as much, or whether progress will start to plateau. At times, the plateau seems imminent, but so far, it has not arrived.
This vantage point at the changeover from 2005 to 2006 is no different. Looking back, it has been a very constructive and progressive year. Being transgender and out has been second nature to me for a while now, but I am moving beyond even that and pushing my presence into the wider community.
There is some momentum built up over the last few months, hopefully that will carry me through to some notable events in the new year. Fingers crossed.
